Everyone has a first choice whether it'd be their first love, person they've been with the longest, or even a friend who, in their eyes, is their perfect soul mate. Some people don't believe in a first choice. Some people haven't met their first choice or better yet, some people don't believe in a first choice because they haven't met them yet. The truth though, is that everyone has a first choice.
The lucky ones end up with their first choice. However, people's first choice can change. Someone may be with someone who wasn't their first choice to begin with. But eventually with time, they become their first choice. It's great if everything works out that way but it doesn't always.
Some people are afraid to tell their first choice how they feel and there are many reasons as to why. But every person is different. Some may never end up telling their first choice. Instead it may become something they dream or think about from time to time. At the same time, we give ourselves plenty of excuses. We tell ourselves, "it's not the right time to tell them, so I will wait until later" or "they live in another country, I cannot tell them" when in reality, we could be doing something on our part. If the person is your first choice, there isn't anything stopping you. The only thing stopping you is when it becomes too late to tell them and they become someone else's first choice.
Life is a gamble. Not everyone is lucky and ends up with their first choice. But the ones who have tried, at least now know they've done what they could have and can move on and not wonder for the rest of their life. We have to believe that everything will work out in the end... It almost always does.
