Continued on from Long Distance Part 2.
Giving something personal to your significant other helps them think of you from time to time when they miss you. This personal item can be anything ranging from a sweater, a stuffed animal, or even a book, as long as the item makes them think of you, it's worth giving to the other person.
Being long distance doesn't have to all be negative. You get more time doing your own things: working out, reading, personal hobbies, etc. You also have more time to spend with family and friends rather than solely on the relationship. If arguments happen, you have more time to think and respond to your partner instead of immediately responding or saying the wrong things in person. And lastly, when you do get a chance to see each other, it will be that much more special as you two will really cherish what little time you have together.
You may notice transitions in your relationship. For example, in the beginning, it may be intimacy and passion that drives the relationship, but when things progress, trust and commitment become the factors that take over. Long distance is the ultimate test for each other's trust and commitment to one another.
